The $1.2 billion commercial office building, 1 Dennison, is on schedule for completion in September 2020. Development Director of Winten Property Groups, Stuart Vaughan, welcomed this significant milestone for the business. Vaughan highlighted the positive economic impact of such a substantial project within Northern Sydney, stating that “We are demonstrating our commitment to job creation in North Sydney and helping stimulate the growing local economy. 1 Denison is an exciting commercial project that will set a new precedent for office towers in North Sydney.”
The positive economic impact of this ambitious construction is two-fold. More than 2700 construction workers have been engaged in the project so far, while 36,400 cubic metres of concrete were required to top out that final 158th metre. Vaughan explains that “Over 80 per cent of the building is now leased to several high-profile corporate companies including Nine, Microsoft and SAP. SAP recently expanded from 5,700 to 9,400 square metres and is located on levels 11 to 15.” The appeal of the construction is easy to understand, thanks to it’s aspirational and innovative design elements. The 39 storey structure is anticipated to achieve a minimum Five Star Green Star rating from the Green Building Council of Australia as well as Five Star Nabers rating and Gold Wells rating.
The monumental construction features a perimeter core with floor plates that range from 1336 square metres to 2518 square metres across three rises. Those accommodated by the structure will be able to enjoy a two-level lifestyle precinct and basement parking for 225 cars. Regional Managing Director from Multiplex, David Ghannoum, explained the aesthetics of the tower in further detail, and some of the project’s challenges, stating that “As well as installing curved glass panels to create the inclined façade, Multiplex has been challenged by the tight site, with building works occurring from boundary to boundary and many other large sites within close proximity. It’s a busy site in a precinct experiencing revival, and it’s great to be a part of it.”
